The Netherlands Israel Association

Since its founding in Amsterdam in 1950, the Netherlands Israel Association (NIA) has grown from a local organization to a national association with 16 branches throughout the Netherlands.

The NIA is an independent cultural organization and has no affiliation with political or religious organizations. NIA's objective is to inform the Dutch society about Israel, its culture and its inhabitants in the broadest sense. The NIA aims to strengthen the ties of friendship between the Netherlands and Israel and to create a mutual understanding.

In order to achieve this aim the local branches, each with its own autonomous board, organize several activities throughout the year. The activities consist of lectures, exhibitions, concerts and excursions with a variety of subjects, such as the history of Israel, Judaism, literature, Israeli society, the Arab world etc. All these activities are accessible for members and supporters of the NIA.

Membership of the NIA is open to anyone who is interested in Israel in its broadest sense and acknowledges the existence of the independent State of Israel. To become a member of a local branch, please contact the secretariat of this branch for further information including membership fee.
If there is no local branch in your area, please feel welcome to become a supporting member for a fee of €10.
